Caserta is the capital of the province of Caserta in the Campania region. It is an important agricultural, commercial and industrial area and city. The city is best known for the Royal Palace of Caserta, or “la Reggia”. The palace was created in the 18th century by the Italian architect Luigi Vanvitelli as a Versailles-like residence ("Reggia") for the Bourbon kings of Naples and Sicily. It is one of the most visited monuments in the country. Inside are more than 1200 rooms, decorated in various styles. It has been the set for several famous movies such as Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and Mission Impossible III. The park is 3.2 km long and contains many waterfalls, lakes and gardens, as well as a very famous English garden.

At this restaurant it is all about local stories. The menu is illustrated with short stories of the ingredients and recipes which Chef Rosanna Marziale prepares with special attention to the smallest details. Chef Rosanna Marziale believes in putting “hands, head and heart” in her creative cooking always using the extraordinary products of her region. She is the ambassador of mozarella di bufala campana DOP cheese around the world and her restaurant, “Le Colonne” was ackonledged by a Michelin star in 2013.

Travelling through the Campania region the recipe of the real Italian pizza must be discovered. Who would explain it better then Francesco Pepe the famous pizza artisan at his temple of pizza, Pepe in Grano. Visit the farm “le Campestre” to discover the most ancient cheese recipe dating back to the Roman times, the “Conciato Romano”.In the winery, “Terre del Principe” tasting of some rediscovered grape varieties and wines such as Casavecchia and Pallagrello.
