Florence, capital of Tuscany region and birthplace of the Renaissance, is home to masterpieces of art and architecture. One of its most iconic sites is the Florence Cathedral, with its dome engineered by Brunelleschi and bell tower designed by Giotto. The Mercato Centrale di San Lorenzo was build when Florence was the capital of Italy in the late nineteenth century. Its recently restored first floor has traditional shops that give food artisans centre stage. Within the Market there is a cooking school called Cucina by Lorenzo de’Medici, the international Italian Institute. On this day the schedule of the Master Cooking Classes includes the chefs Tano Simonato, Tano Passami l’olio (Milan)*, Daniele Repetti, Il Nido del Picchio (Piacenza) and Marcello Mereu, Director Accademia della Bottarga.
